4th March 2022 will be a memorable day for Virat Kohli as he is going to step into the Mohali Cricket Ground for his 100th Test Match as a player. 50% crowd has been allowed by the Punjab Cricket Associated as they will be fortunate to witness this historic moment. He will be the 12th Indian player to reach such a big milestone after making a debut against West Indies in this longer format, back in 2011. During this whole test career, he has delivered so many memorable moments to the Indian fans or rather, cricket fans. He has scored 7962 runs in his 99 Test Matches at an average of 50.39. 27 centuries have been scored along with 28 half-centuries and a mammoth high score of 254* Vs South Africa. After MS Dhoni’s reign, he also took the captaincy responsibilities of the Test Team in 2014 and what a team he has developed by now! Virat Kohli has led India in 68 Tests and he has won 40 of them. It has made him the most successful captain in this red-ball format with a winning percentage of 59.

Speaking to BCCI.TV, Virat Kohli told that it was always a dream for him to play for India, especially in this red-ball format. He also added:
“I have given my heart and soul to this format; I can proudly say that. I never knew that I would be able to play 100 Test matches. but things unfolded in a way that the journey just kept on going. I think my first Test Hundred, it's something that I remember very fondly and it's very fresh in my memory still. That is one day that will always be very special to me and also knowing that fact that it came in Australia made it much more special.”
