T20 WORLD CUP 2022: TEAM INDIA IS TIPPED TO BRING BACK THEIR “KULCHA” FORMULA FOR WC TRIUMPH

After losing the 2017 Champions Trophy final against the arch-rivals Pakistan, Team India put their faith in the combination of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal and that pair have delivered some remarkable performances until the 2019 World Cup. Post that tournament, India started to play one of the spinners in a rotation manner based on the match requirements. Kuldeep Yadav also lost his sparkles and even, he lost his place in the playing 11 of his IPL franchise, KKR. Yuzvendra Chahal was an integral part of the team India squad during the preparation for the last year’s T20 World Cup. But, all Indian fans were in shock when they found no name of the Haryana spinner in the final list.

Hence, this year’s IPL was the final stage for both of them to make a strong statement to the selectors and how they have managed it with a bang until now! After getting a split with RCB after so many years, Chahal was eager to show his value in Rajasthan colours while Kuldeep was roped by Delhi in the auction from Kolkata. 12 matches gone and Chahal is leading the Purple Cap race with 23 wickets while Kuldeep is in third place with 18 wickets. Kuldeep has shown glimpses of his old days as his overall speed has increased with more turn and grip. Both of their performances have been instrumental in their team’s success respectively. Chahal has also grabbed a hattrick and Kuldeep has managed 2 four-wicket hauls.

Witnessing their consistent performance match by match, the 41-year-old Indian legend Harbhajan Singh has urged Indian selectors for considering this spin-bowling duo for the upcoming t20 World Cup later this year in Australia. Speaking to a Media outlet, Turbanator has said:

“I certainly believe that you have to bring ‘Kulcha’ back. Kuldeep and Yuzvendra, I think they have been brilliant for Team India. When they played together, they took wickets in middle overs, whether it was T20s, ODIs or any format. I don’t know why they (selectors) break that partnership which was going well for India. It will be great to see them bowling in Australia, where grounds are big and they both are quality bowlers”

Whether Team India will opt for this duo again only time will tell. But, for now, Indian Cricket Fans are enjoying their performances and hopefully, they continue to contribute in such a terrific manner. Keep Going KULCHA!
