FOOTBALL LEAGUES: PLAYERS ARE SHOWING THEIR SUPPORT TOWARDS UKRAINE

It has been already 3 days since the Russian army has invaded Ukraine and the overall situation is becoming worse as time passes by. This sudden war has shaken the global aspects completely and the Football world is not an exception. People from different countries have been found protesting against this war. Players are also found united in this through their strong messages and initiatives.

Premier League

Several Premier League clubs have offered their full support to Ukraine in today’s matches. During the Everton vs Manchester City, Leeds vs Tottenham matches, supporters send strong messages across their hoardings and shirts. Current Manchester United Boss, Ralf Ragnick has been found holding a peace sign along with his and Watford players ahead of their match at Old Trafford.

Bundesliga

Bundesliga clubs have offered moments of silence before their matches along with some supporting banners towards Ukraine during this crisis. Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski wore a special armband to show his support.

UEFA Champions League and Europa League

UEFA has announced that the final of this year’s champions league will now be staged in Paris instead of Saint Petersburg following Russia's military invasion of Ukraine. FC Barcelona and Napoli players have also expressed their full sport by holding a “STOP WAR” banner before kicking off their Europa League fixture last night.

Apart from all these, Countries like Poland, Sweden and the Czech Republic has released a statement to FIFA and UEFA for cancelling their matches against Russia in the upcoming WC Qualifiers.

Football has always been a game of love, unity and again, this game is stepping up through the players, fans at the right time when Ukraine needs it. Hopefully, all things get back to normal quickly and peace prevails…
